Michel Lantelme (Ph.D Emory University, 1996) is a Professor in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. He served as French section Coordinator (2004-2007), and is currently Chair of the MLLL Scholarship Committee. His research and teaching specialties include 20th-century and Contemporary French Literature, Critical Theory, and 20th-century European Culture and Identity. He is Editor in Chief of Revue André Malraux Review, an international and bilingual academic journal devoted to French writer, Art historian, and Minister of Culture André Malraux. In 2007, he received the Cecil W. Woods Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Foreign Modern Languages.

Michel Lantelme will be delivering two lectures on contemporary French literature, one in June in Aix en Provence, France, and one in the Fall at the SCMLA in Forth Worth, TX.
Teaching:
Michel Lantelme has recently directed Master's theses on Rachid Boudjedra, Marie Redonnet, the representation of French colonial policy in Algeria (Bazin, Roy, Genet), Honor's theses on Semprun/Levi, Tournier, and a McNair research project on Belghoul/Begag. He is currently directing a Dissertation on Beur literature, a Master's thesis on Jean Rouaud, and an Honor's thesis on Kerchouche. In Fall 2010, he will be teaching 20th-century French Prose, and 20th-century European Culture & Identity.
